The give and go is a building block of offensive teamwork; it’s elegant and effective.
It’s also often called a one-two because it’s a combination of two quick passes to get around and behind an opponent.
The basic move is this: Two teammates face a single defender. The player with the ball dribbles towards the opponent, makes the pass to a teammate, then makes a run behind the defender. The teammate makes a return pass, and we’re off to the races.
Done quickly, the give and go can be unstoppable, and you’re using teamwork to your advantage.
