What’s more impressive than a one-handed catch? A no-handed catch.

Receiving the ball with your chest is a great way to control a dropping or driven ball above the abdomen — or to control a high bouncing ball. Start by moving into the ball’s path and preparing your midsection to “catch” with your chest.

Put one foot ahead of the other and raise both arms slightly forward and up, to curve the chest out and brace it for impact. Keep your chin down to protect the throat. Then, at the point of contact, relax your chest muscles, exhale and lean back.
